The ground in the municipality around Tartu has yielded up a 100-kilogram general-purpose bomb, ERR News reported.

Nearly 70 years after World War II, munitions are still turning up in large quantities in the Estonian countryside. But the FAB-100 was only developed after the war by the Soviets as a general aviation bomb. It remains in use today.

The FAB-100 rendered safe by a squad on Thursday was found in Kõrveküla village in Tartu municipality during excavation work.
