An SUV collided with Prime Minister Jüri Ratas’ official car in front of the Drama Theater some time before 5 p.m. yesterday. Ratas was in the vehicle at the time of the accident.

Eyewitness Raido was driving toward Freedom Square when he noticed two vehicles, an Audi and a BMW, with sirens and flashing lights. When the vehicles reached the intersection, a Mercedes rammed into the PM’s car from the left side. “I saw PM Jüri Ratas exit the Audi, get into a security vehicle, and ride off about 10 seconds later,” Raido said. Ratas later wrote in social media that no one was hurt in the accident. “I went for a checkup at the North Estonia Regional Hospital (PERH) where I was told I am fine,” the PM wrote.

Traffic was disrupted at the scene of the accident, with trams coming to a halt between the Kosmos movie theater and Kadriorg.
