Close to 1,400 new cars registered in Estonia in February

In February 3,335 passenger cars were for the first time entered in the Estonian motor vehicle register, of which 1,364 or 41 percent were brand new.

The share of new cars in the first registrations was 2 percent smaller than in January 2012.

In February 2012 passenger cars registered for the first time in Estonia numbered 3,001 including 1,304 new cars. In the first month of this year the respective figures were 3,663 and 1,713.

The most popular new car model in February was Honda CR-V with 90 units, followed by Toyota Avensis with 57 entries in the register.

Toyota topped the list of makes with 155 new cars registered. Volkswagen was second with 137 units and Honda and Nissan tied for third with 111 units each.

In addition 560 trucks, including 286 new ones, and 16 buses of which one was brand new were entered for the first time in the Estonian register last month. Of motorcycles 103 units were registered for the first time, including 47 new ones, and of tractors 60 units, of them 48 brand new.
