About 30-35 artists are expected to perform at the Rock Summer 25 festival in Tallinn this summer, organizers released 15 names on Wednesday.

"As negotiations are still underway with some artists, the list of performers is not yet final but we can name 15 artists already today," head organizer Jüri Makarov said. In his words, organizers expect 30-35 singers and bands to take part.

The event to mark the 25th anniversary of the very first Rock Summer will be held at the Tallinn song festival ground on June 15 and 16.

The list of foreign performers features Sakari Kuosmanen from Finland, John Lydon & Public Image Limited from the UK, Duff McKagan & Walking Papers from the United States, Sharon Corr from Ireland, Mumiy Troll from Russia, Aura Dione from Denmark, Skindred from the UK, Zucchero from Italy and Canadian Bryan Adams.

On the list of Estonian artists are Sinine, Marya Roxx, Dramamama, Metsatoll, and Ivo Linna & In Spe.

The dance tent lineup includes British DJ Andy C.

Makarov told journalists on Wednesday that organizers expect the anniversary event to attract 20,000 or so visitors. Besides Estonia tickets will be on sale in Finland, Latvia and Russia. In case sales surpass expectations and the visitor number rises significantly above 20,000, organize may invite more performers.

"Although the phenomenon of a quarter of century ago is impossible to repeat and that's not even the aim, we'd like to create an atmosphere reminiscent of the previous festivals," Makarov said. He added that this year's Rock Summer is a one-off event to celebrate the 25th anniversary of its birth and organizers do not intend to revive the festival and start organizing it every year.

The first Rock Summer was held at the Tallinn song festival ground on August 26-28, 1988 and performers included Big Country, Public Image Ltd./PiL, Steve Hackett, and Ivo Linna together with In Spe & Kiigelaulukuuik. The last time it was held was in 1997.
