According to spokespeople for the Estonian government, European heads of government recognized at the European Council meeting that the situation in eastern Ukraine is still very worrying and therefore the current policies in the direction of Russia should be continued with.
The European Council supported continuing with sanctions against Russia. In addition, heads of government acknowledged the promise of the Ukrainian government to carry out political and economic reforms.
Roivas, along with many heads of government, shared the opinion that Russia's actions are still unpredictable. He also drew the attention of the meeting participants to the fact that Russia is significantly more provocative and dangerous in the Baltic Sea region.
