Estonian Prime Minister Taavi Roivas on Tuesday morning placed a wreath at the War of Independence Victory Monument in Tallinn in commemoration of the 96th anniversary of the Tartu Peace Treaty.

According to Roivas the Tartu Peace Treaty, which was signed by Estonia and Russia 96 years ago, is the basis of our sovereignty, spokespeople for the government said.

«Even in today's complicated world the message of peace is topical, valuing stability and development,» Roivas said.
