The Foreign Ministry of Latvia voices its deep concern over the incident that took place near Estonia-Russia border at the Luhamaa border checkpoint on 5 September, when unknown persons, at gunpoint, abducted an officer of the Estonian Internal Security Service (KAPO).

We support Estonia's desire to receive support and close cooperation from Russia, which is necessary in order to clarify all the details and circumstances of this incident and secure the release of the abducted Estonian counter-intelligence officer.
