Residents of Estonia are the most concerned about rising prices, the spring Standard Eurobarometer survey showed.

Across the European Union more than half of the polled identified unemployment as the biggest issue, but in Estonia 51 percent of respondents put the price rise in the first place. Unemployment was mentioned by 34 percent and the country's economic situation by one third of the polled, the magazine of the European Commission representation in Estonia reported.

Two fifths of respondents consider Estonia's economic situation to be good. Slightly more than half believe the situation will not change in the next 12 months, one third expect it to improve and 16 percent think it will change for the worse.

The spring 2013 Standard Eurobarometer survey was carried out between May 10 and 26 by face to face interviews with 32,694 people in EU member states and candidate countries. Estonian interviewees numbered 1,002.
