Estonia's Harju County Court is to hold another preliminary hearing in the footballers' cocaine trafficking criminal case in August before the main hearings start in September.

The proceeding's parties will have to gather on Aug. 13 because it became necessary to deposit the statements of a witness due to the witness being away during the trial.

At the first preliminary hearing in May the parties set the starting date of the trial to Sep. 16. At subsequent preliminary hearings the court considered the defendants' applications for release from custody.

Footballers Tauno Laasme, Oliver Konsa and Norman Kago have been charged with illegal handling of a big amount of narcotics. Kago is also being accused of escaping from a police convoy.
