Estonian Air ex-CEO receives highest remuneration among state-owned firms' executives

Of the executives of Estonia's state-owned companies former chairman of the board of flag carrier Estonian Air Tero Taskila received the highest remuneration last year, with his salary exclusive of the social tax amounting to 431,964 euros including 99,684 euros in additional remuneration.

His successor Jan Palmer was paid 43,000 euros for the months of November and December. Of the other management board members Wade Stokes received 129,240 euros, Jyri Ketola 96,000 euros, Rauno Parras 82,800 euros, Signe Vaks-Saareoja 38,864 euros and Andreas Kari for the final month of the year 6,827 euros, data released by the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Communications show. All the figures are exclusive of the social tax.

Eesti Energia CEO Sandor Liive was paid 150,972 euros, the group's CFO Margus Kaasik 102,639 euros, and board members Margus Rink and Raine Pajo respectively 103,880 euros and 102,839 euros. The remuneration of board member Harri Mikk who resigned last year was 109,553 euros.

Board chairman of the railway company Eesti Raudtee Kaido Simmermann who left in 2012 was paid a total of 104,362 euros of which 72,028 euros was basic salary and 32,334 euros additional remuneration. Other members of the board did not receive any extra remuneration. The basic salary of Priit Haller was 38,347 euros, of Arvo Smiltins 20,452 euros and of Sergei Fedorenko 21,580 euros. Ahti Asmann who took over as the new leader of Eesti Raudtee in September received 35,200 euros.

Ahto Altjoe, head of the freight traffic operator EVR Cargo since the beginning of November, received a basic salary totaling 13,000 euros for two months and board member Oskar Kalmus was paid 20,452 for the last four months of 2012.

CEO of the Port of Tallinn Ain Kaljurand was paid 96,739 euros last year, including 77,565 euros in basic salary and a bonus of 19,173 euros for 2011 results. The other member of the management board, Allan Kiil, received 80,993 euros, of this 64,696 euros in basic salary and 16,297 euros as a bonus for the previous year's performance.

The remuneration of the board chairman of the transmission network operator Elering, Taavi Veskimagi, amounted to 90,455 euros including 77,411 euros in basic salary and a bonus of 13,044 euros for 2011 results. Board member Peep Soone was paid a basic salary of 50,258 euros and the other board member, Kalle Kilk, 50,541 euros. Both received a performance bonus of 13,044 euros.

Mart Einpalu, CEO of the broadcast network operator Levira in which the state holds the majority, was paid 76,008 euros last year. Of other board members Aare Siimon received 58,886 euros, Tiit Tamm 58,001 euros and Indrek Lepp 56,124 euros. No additional remuneration was paid to Levira executives.

Chairman of the board of the state-owned lottery company Eesti Loto Heiki Kranich received 63,421 euros including 16,000 euros in extras and allowances.

CEO of the air navigation services provider Lennuliiklusteeninduse AS Tanel Rautits was paid 77,844 euros of which 63,081 euros was basic salary and 14,764 euros additional remuneration. The other two board members, Marko Otsing and Mati Tarlap, made respectively 64,685 euros and 56,181 euros, including additional remuneration in the amount of 11,696 euros and 13,230 euros, respectively.
