Col. Margo Grosberg handed over command of the military intelligence center of the Estonian defense forces to Col. Ants Kiviselg on Thursday.

Col. Kiviselg has served in the defense forces in various positions for more than 25 years.

According to Grosberg, who handed over the command, the last five years, during which he led the intelligence center, have been long and stressful in one way or another, but at the same time interesting and full of unexpected challenges.

«The last few years since the spring of 2021 have been especially tense,» Grosberg said.

Grosberg, who took over as chief of the military intelligence center in 2018, has served in the border guard as well as in various positions in the defense forces for over 30 years in total.

The military intelligence center of the defense forces deals with the protection of state secrets in Estonia and, among other things, organizes and controls compliance with the requirements for the protection of classified information in the defense forces and the Kaitseliit (Defense League) volunteer corps.
