More than 1,000 allied soldiers are to take part in Estonia's annual Spring Storm military exercise in May this year and six countries intend to take part with a company-sized unit.
Six allies to send company-sized units to Estonia's Spring Storm exercise
Spring Storm will be the largest training exercise for the Estonian defense forces this year and altogether some 6,000 personnel, including allies, will take part in it. The exercise will start on May 2 and will end on May 20, and will take place in Tartu, Voru and Polva counties, miltary spokespeople told BNS.
Latvia, Lithuania, the Netherlands, the United States, the United Kingdom and Germany are to send company-sized units to take part in the exercise. In addition, a Canadian team of specialists and Finnish staff officers are to participate.
Members of the defense forces of Estonia's allies are to practice cooperation with Estonian units as well as act as an enemy to the units being assessed at the exercise.
Spring Storm is the final exam for conscripts who were summoned in July and October last year.
