The highest air temperature, 20.1 degrees Celsius, was measured in the southern city of Tartu, almost three degrees higher than the previous record of 17.2 degrees.
The capital Tallinn and the southwestern resort town Parnu both registered increases of 4.5 degrees or more over the previous record – respectively from 14.2 degrees to 18.8 degrees and from 14 to 18.5 degrees.
In Narva in the country's northeast air temperature hit 18.1 degrees, representing a minor improvement on the previous high of 17.7 degrees.
