According to spokesman for the party Taavi Pukk, Savisaar is in Switzerland until the end of the week and he will take part in several meetings.
Usually a suspect cannot leave his residence for longer than three days without permission of the body conducting proceedings, but according to spokesman for the Public Prosecutor's Office, Ilmar Kahro, Savisaar has been granted permission. He added that he is not allowed to comment on the reason behind Savisaar visiting Switzerland because it is the latter's private matter.
Postimees had previously reported that the Public Prosecutor's Office has been investigating Savisaar's connection to a Swiss fund, Arsai Investment, since 2014.
