In his speech before a plenary session of the European Parliament in Strasbourg, Estonian President Toomas Hendrik Ilves called on Europe to deal with difficulties together and not yield to attempts to break the European Union.

«If we give in to populists who say that Europe can't be trusted to protect the interests of its citizens, then no crisis, whether it is predictable or not, will get an adequate solution," Ilves said in his speech. «Whether it is migration, the euro crisis or even a military aggression, not to mention challenges posed by technological changes -- solutions that are based on nation states takes us to the time before World War II,» he stressed.
