Estonia's oldest person Elle Malberg dies

The oldest resident in Estonia, 108-year-old Elle Malberg, died on Wednesday morning.

Malberg was born in 1907 and lived in Polva County. She was an honorary resident of Rapina.

In 1935 she founded the Rapina chapter of Naiskodukaitse, the women's arm of the volunteer corps Kaitseliit (Defense League). She worked as a local biology teacher for most of her life and was dedicated to saving the environment.
