Estonia on Thursday received as the first foreign country the first batch of Mistral M3 missiles.

With Mistral missiles, ammunition for the Milan anti-tank missile system produced by MBDA also reached Estonia, military spokespeople said.

The next-generation ammunition Mistral has been so far used in the French defense forces and Estonia is the first foreign country where it is delivered.

The total volume of the tender is 23.8 million euros. A spokesman for the defense forces told BNS that the amount of the bought missiles is "enough to defend Estonia", but he did not specify the amount.

The Mistral air-defense system is being used in 30 countries across the world.
