According to Kadri Simson, deputy chairman of the Center Party who is running for the position of party chairman, the party's current leader Edgar Savisaar has promised that the party's cooperation agreement with United Russia will be put to the vote.

«I am glad to see that my running for the chairman position has already made the Center Party more open. It is clearly shown by the fact that Edgar Savisaar has promised to my colleagues Jaanus Karilaid and Mart Sults for their support that the cooperation protocol with United Russia will be put to the vote at the congress,» Simson wrote on social media.

Center Party MPs Jaanus Karilaid and Mart Sults in a letter asked the party to take a clear stand regarding the Registered Partnership Act, the cooperation agreement with United Russia and the Estonia-Russia border agreement.

«The Center Party should initiate the revokement of the civil partnership law or adopt its implementing provisions. It is not ethical to run from responsibility,» the MPs said in their letter which is titled «A Letter from Jaanus Karilaid and Mart Sults in Support of Edgar Savisaar».

Karilaid and Sults want the cooperation protocol entered into with United Russia to be put to the vote at the party congress.
