Estonian govt appoints Mikk Marran head of Information Board

The Estonian government on Thursday released Rainer Saks from the position of director general of the Information Board and appointed Mikk Marran as new director general of the country's main intelligence agency.

Marran's five-year term in the office starts from Jan. 1, 2016. Marran comes from the position of secretary general of the Ministry of Defense, which he assumed on Jan. 1, 2011.

Saks has been appointed secretary general of the Estonian Foreign Ministry. The appointment will be effective from Dec. 1.

Saks assumed the job of director general of the Information Board on Feb. 10, 2011.
