President Toomas Hendrik Ilves on Monday appointed Social Democrats Jevgeni Ossinovski, Hannes Hanso and Liisa Oviir to the positions of minister of health and labor, defense, and entrepreneurship, respectively.

«I hope that half a year after the elections the government will now start working at full steam and all together,» the president said.

«The new ministers' task, especially at this difficult and complicated time, is also to participate in the work of the European Council in Brussels. This is necessary to explain and defend Estonia's views and positions. Unfortunately it has not been a part of all ministers' schedules until now,» he said.

The posts were previously held by Social Democrats Rannar Vassiljev, Sven Mikser and Urve Palo.

Palo, Mikser and Vassiljev are members of SDE board. After new ministers have assumed office, Palo and Mikser are to return to the parliament.
