Officials from the office for combating corruption crimes of Estonia's Central Criminal Police were searching the premises of the borough government of North Tallinn on Thursday afternoon.
The premises of the borough government of North Tallinn are being searched based on a warrant issued by the Harju County Court as part of a criminal investigation into possible presentation of false invoices to the government of the borough of North Tallinn and making payments against these invoices using funds of the city, spokespeople for the North regional prosecutor's office told BNS.
At this point one official of the borough government of North Tallinn and one company have been declared suspects in forgery of documents and use of forged documents.
The official declared suspect in the investigation is an official of the rank of specialist, the police said.
