Estonian government on Thursday sent to the parliament the bill of the Greek aid package and asked the Riigikogu to convene an extraordinary sitting on Aug. 18.

According to the bill Greece would get an aid package worth up to 86 billion euros from the European Stability Mechanism (ESM). Greece submitted a request to receive aid from ESM on July 8. At the July 12 eurozone meeting policy requirements were agreed upon which Greece would have to fulfill to get help.

The volume of the three-year program is up to 86 billion euros.

According to laws the plenary assembly of the Riigikogu has to approve the aid package in Estonia. A memorandum of understanding which contains the economic requirements of the program will be voted on in the Estonian parliament.
