Rein Lang, who has served as Estonia's minister of justice, culture and foreign affairs, is about to do an advocate's examination to be able to join the Bar Association and work as a sworn advocate.

«I have worked as an advocate for a long time, but under the Estonian Bar Association Act I have no professional certificate. Now I have to pass the exam, unfortunately,» the the 58-year-old Reform Party long-timer told the online edition of Postimees.

Lang said it was too early to speak about his plans for the future. «When I pass the exam I will become a member of the Estonian Bar Association and will be able to work as a sworn advocate, that's the plan,» he said.

Lang, who holds a master's degree in law, said he is planning to take the exam at the end of this year or in early 2016. «I will do it allright, you do not have to worry,» he said.

Land served in or was elected to all lineups of the Estonian parliament between 2003 and 2015 and was elected deputy speaker of the Riigikogu in 2004.

Lang served as foreign minister in the government of Juhan Parts from February to April 2005 and held the portfolios of justice and culture, also serving briefly as acting interior minister, in the government of Andrus Ansip from April 2005 to December 2013. He did not run for a parliament seat in the general elections of March this year.
