Yesterday in Ülemiste City, Tallinn the names of authors were festively painted underneath a huge painting-on-wall by Indrek Haas. None is larger in Estonia, Latvia or Lithuania.

«The Ülemiste Girl» covering a whopping 1,780 square metres swallowed 800 litres of paint while in the making. Birthing of the idea was assisted by artists Edgar Tedresaar, Paavo Kuldkepp, Martin Urb, Alar Tuul and Taavi Kask.

The surface of the work is covered by a random windfall of digits – or so it seems. Nothing haphazard here, underlines Mr Haas: «In binary code, this is a verse of «Ülemiste Oldie and a Young City Builder,» a poem by Debora Vaarandi.»
