During the past five years, a slight trend of decline has developed regarding vaccinations in Estonia, said Health Board. Las year, compared to 2013, coverage of 2-year-olds decreased over entire spectrum of vaccination plan.

Vaccination coverage of 2-year-olds:

  • hepatitis B – 93.4 %
  • diphtheria, tetanus, whooping cough, polio – 94.5%
  • haemophylius influenzae type B – 95%
  • mumps, rubella, measles – 93.4%

WHO advisory vaccination level is 95%.

Among children aged 2, advised vaccination level was missed in Tallinn, Harju County, Hiiumaa, Pärnu County, Valga County, Viljandi County and Võru County.

Also, Estonia had problems with timely immunisation. In 2014, coverage shrunk regarding initial and second repeat vaccination against diphtheria, tetanus, whooping cough and polio. Among 14 year olds, coverage with repeat vaccination against mumps, rubella and measles also came under advised level.

Pursuant to Estonian immunisation plan, children are vaccinated against 11 infectious diseases. These are tuberculosis, hepatitis B, diphtheria, tetanus, whooping cough, poliomyelitis aka polio, mumps, rubella, measles, haemophylius influenzae type B and rotavirus as added in 2014.

In 2014, 95.1 percent of children aged 0–11 months were vaccinated against tuberculosis.
