Jurgen Ligi tipped for education minister

Member of the Reform Party's governing board Jurgen Ligi, former minister of defense and finance, will in great probability get the portfolio of education and research in the new Estonian government.

According to the same report, of other Reform Party ministers, Keit Pentus-Rosimannus is to keep the foreign affairs portfolio and Hanno Pevkur the portfolio of internal affairs. Kristen Michal is to become minister for economic affairs and infrastructure and Urmas Kruuse, the so far minister of health and labor, minister of rural affairs. Arto Aas is to become minister of public governance, Postimees said citing reports it described as tentative.

Previously on Monday, Pro Patria and Res Publica Union (IRL) said that according to a decision of their governing board chairman of IRL Urmas Reinsalu will become minister of justice, vice chairman of the former Riigikogu's finance committee Sven Sester minister of finance, Marko Pomerants minister of environment and Margus Tsahkna, vice chairman of the former Riigikogu's social affairs committee, minister for social protection.

Of the Social Democratic Party (SDE), the third partner in the prospective coalition, the party's chairman Sven Mikser is to keep his portfolio as minister of defense, minister of economic affairs and infrastructure Urve Palo would become minister of foreign trade and entrepreneurship, Indrek Saar is to take the portfolio of culture and Rannar Vassiljev that of health and labor, according to Postimees.
