The National Election Committee on Monday registered the lineup of the 13th Estonian Riigikogu and the list of alternate MPs, thus making the result of the March 1 general elections official.

The decision of the National Election Committee will take effect on the day following the date of its publication in the Riigi Teataja official gazette. From the same day the powers of the members of the new Riigikogu will start and those of the old Riigikogu will expire, spokespeople for the National Election Committee said.

The committee also ruled about repaying the election deposit to the parties that won seats in the parliament. The amount not subject to repayment, 44,020 euros, will be paid into the state coffers.

The opening session of the new Riigikogu has to be convened by President Toomas Hendrik Ilves and it must take place within ten days following the announcement of the result of the elections.
