Defense Secretary of the U.K. Michael Fallon announced that from May to August four British Eurofighter Typhoon fighter jets will guard the airspace of the Baltic countries from the Amari air base in northwestern Estonia.

Speaking in the House of Commons of the British parliament, Fallon said that the U.K. is planning to once again send four fighters to the air policing mission of Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania and Poland as part of NATO's deterrence measures, spokespeople for the Estonian Ministry of Defense said.
«Estonia shares the same democratic values with the United Kingdom, similarly assesses the changed European security situation, and acts to guarantee NATO's deterrence and reduce risks,» Estonian Defense Minister Sven Mikser said. He added that Estonia has a trusting allied relationship with the U.K. as well as military cooperation.
Mikser is to meet with Fallon in Brussels after the meeting of NATO defense ministers.
Fighters of the U.K. previously took part in the Baltic air policing mission from May to September 2014 when British fighter jets were stationed in Lithuania's Siauliai air base.
