According to Statistics Estonia, in November 2013, the production of industrial enterprises increased by 2% compared to November of the previous year. The production exceeded the volume of the previous year in most of the branches of industry.
In November industrial production increased in most branches of industry
In September the production in manufacturing decreased 2%, whereas in October the production increased by 6% and in November by 2% compared to the same month of the previous year. In November 2013, among the branches of industry holding larger shares, the production grew in the manufacture of food, wood, metal products and electrical equipment. The volume of production fell in the manufacture of electronic and chemical products.
In November, 70% of the whole production of manufacturing was sold on the external market. According to unadjusted data, the export sales of manufacturing fell 6% compared to November 2012, while domestic sales rose 2%.
In November 2013 compared to October, the seasonally adjusted total industrial production decreased by 1%; manufacturing production remained on the level of the previous month.
Compared to November 2012, the production of electricity increased by 1%, while the production of heat fell by 8%.
