Swimmer Triin Aljand, voted twice Estonia's sportswoman of the year, has announced her decision to quit top sports.

The 28-year-old Aljand will explain her reasons for giving up professional swimming at a press conference in Tallinn on Wednesday, sports news of public broadcaster ERR said.

Aljand won silver in 50 meter butterfly at the European championships in Debrecen last year and has four medals in butterfly and freestyle from the European Short Course Swimming Championships 2010-2012.
