Committee procures legal analysis of VEB Fund operations.

The Riigikogu VEB Fund investigative committee has procured a legal analysis to ascertain whether decisions and operations tied to the fund have been in accordance with the law. «All manner of conspiracy theories begin in that the very first relevant Riigikogu decisions were in fact unconstitutional and should never have been passed in that form as referenced by both Rein Järvelill and the National Audit Office,» said committee chairman Rainer Vakra. The committee is also seeking an assessment of later transactions made using the fund's certificates. The analysis is expected towards the end of August.

Estonian student company wins European contest.

Students of the Tartu Hugo Treffner Gymnasium won the Junior Achievement and Young Enterprise competition held in London yesterday as judges deemed their company the best among 35 participants. Europe's best student firm was found over three days of deliberation that culminated in a unanimous decision in favor of the Estonian enterprise called Kolm Põrsakest that puts on science shows for children. The firm has been active for six months and has given 64 performances to more than one thousand children. It's turnover amounts to 2,555 euros and its profit to 869 euros. "It is the beginning of something beautiful, definitely a new company," said CFO Robin Saluoks.
