Estonia's leading mobile communications company EMT, a holding of the Teliasonera group, saw the number of its clients grow by 70,900 year-on-year to 872,900 people by the end of the second quarter.

The company deemed it important to point out that the increase occurred mainly in the number of contractual clients. By the end of June the company had 647,500 contractual clients and 225,400 customers using its pre-paid cards.

Mobile internet experienced the biggest growth as the number of people using it on their computers soared 50 percent year-on-year. The increase of mobile internet volumes amounted to 79 percent compared to the same period last year.

One of the factors contributing to the growth has certainly been the fast development of the 4G network, the company stated. EMT's 4G network covers 95 percent of the Estonian territory.
