Estonian police detained on Friday a 21-year-old man suspected of robbing a jewelry store in the Viru shopping center in Tallinn last week.

«The man who has no criminal punishments confessed to the crime. The police have by now recovered some of the stolen items and are establishing the whereabouts of the rest,» a spokeswoman for the North prefecture said on Monday.

The suspect reportedly used a toy gun in the robbery.

The man wearing a motorbike helmet to conceal his face entered a jewelry store at the Viru Keskus shopping mall at 12:30 p.m. on July 9, threatened the people inside with a weapon-like object and made off with precious jewelry. No one was hurt in the robbery.
