Alexela Oil plans to open 12 new liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) stations in Estonia by the end of the year in addition to the four filling stations it acquired from Reola Gaas in May.

The company plans to develop a network of LPG filling stations covering the whole Estonia, spokespeople for Alexela Oil said.

«The goal of the enlargement plans is to achieve the leading position in the Estonian liquefied gas market and to differ from our competitors by having a more large-scale concept in which we offer car owners all the different kinds of fuel in one and the same place,» Alexela Oil CEO Ain Kuusik said.

The recently opened Paldiski filling station is already the sixth one in the network and the company is set to open a filling point in the central Estonian town of Poltsamaa in the coming weeks, said Kuusik and added that at the end of July the company hopes to offer the possibility of filling up with liquefied gas in Polva and Elva as well. "The locations of the filling stations are strategically chosen to be in the middle of traffic junctions and near bigger towns and cities to offer consumers extensive possibilities to use cheaper and more environmentally friendly fuel," Kuusik said.

Alexela Oil currently owns two filling stations in Tallinn, three in the Harjumaa region surrounding Tallinn and one in Tartu.

Both Alexela Oil and Reola Gaas belong to the holding company Alexela Energia.
