Starting from July 1 Hungary will be issuing short-term Schengen visas on Estonia's behalf in the city of Yekaterinburg in Russia.

Hungary already represents Austria, Denmark, Latvia, Slovakia and Slovenia in the issuance of visas in this city, spokespeople for the Estonian Foreign Ministry said.

Hungary represents Estonia in visa matters also in Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, China, India, Macedonia, Moldova, Singapore and Turkey.

Estonia for its part issues Schengen visas for Denmark, Finland, Latvia, Lithuania, the Netherlands, Poland and Sweden in Pskov, Russia; Tbilisi, Georgia; Minsk, Belarus; and Sydney, Australia.

Estonia has concluded visa representation agreements with 17 Schengen members -- Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Hungary, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, the Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden and Switzerland -- for the issuance of visas at 93 locations where Estonia does not have a representation of its own. The agreement concerning Yekaterinburg brings that number to 94.
