Estonian market posts smallest weekly turnover in two months

The turnover of the Tallinn stock exchange this week was smaller than in any other week since the week ending April 5, which likewise had a turnover of 2.1 million euros.

The OMXT index eased 0.77 percent Friday to Friday, closing at 806.88 points, and the turnover generated in a total of 770 trades was 2.1 million euros.

"The week flew by in ups and downs. The most important player was Arco Vara, which rallied and was the biggest gainer of the week," trader for LHV Pank Ragnar Plees told BNS.

Arco Vara was sold even in the closing auction on Friday, a few minutes after the announcement that Richard Tomingas was leaving the company's supervisory board. Without that selling the weekly rise of the share would have been 20 percent.

Before the closing auction Arco Vara saw no trade on Friday.

Water company Tallinna Vesi finished 2.99 percent higher at 9.99 euros with 98 trades transacted and a turnover of 545,137 euros.

Shipper Tallink Grupp dropped 1.26 percent to 0.94 euros with a turnover of 409,616 euros from 88 trades.

Silvano Fashion Group slid down 0.76 percent to 2.6 euros with a turnover of 405,031 euros from 75 trades.
