The Estonian software developer Datel AS has won an electronic map solutions tender of Montgomery County in the U.S. state of Virginia.

"This is about solutions intended for a wide range of spheres, starting with planning, parceling and taxation and ending with school transport. We're operating in fast, short cycles and addition of new solutions will be decided in the course of the work," Datel's exports manager Villem Alango told BNS.

"The cost of the first phase of this tender is 40,000 U.S. dollars, but due to the expanding nature of the project it's not possible to name a ceiling," he added.

For operations in the United States Datel set up a subsidiary, Ovela LLC, that is responsible for customer services and marketing in that country. Datel's development team stays with the parent company in Estonia.

Datel posted revenues of more than 6.5 million euros in 2012.
