«For us, this was fifty-fifty, and we are very happy to have made it,» said Mart Normet, head of entertainment desk at Estonian National Broadcasting (ERR).
The Estonian media asked Birgit if it was worth the worry and how big a surprise the result was for her. «I’m happy and excited, of course. This was a surprise for me and I’m especially happy that it was not the neighbouring countries, which are in the other semi-finals, securing our success,» answered Birgit.
«Eurovision is not a political event; it really is the songs that are assessed here and that’s real refreshing to know,» added Mr Normet.
At the press conference, the «lottery» landed Estonia to sing in the first half of the finals.
