The transmission capacity of the undersea electricity cable Estlink will be restricted in the direction Estonia-Finland as a result of repairs in Estonia on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

Throughput capacity will be reduced to 191 megawatts instead of the usual 350 megawatts starting 6 a.m. on Friday. A reduction to 286 megawatts will apply on Saturday and until noon on Sunday, the Estonian transmission system operator Elering told the electricity exchange.

In the direction from Finland to Estonia capacity will be 350 megawatts as usual.

Renovation of a 330 kilovolt switchyard is going on at the Eesti power plant in northeastern Estonia as a result of which the high-voltage line between the Eesti power plant and the central Estonian town of Paide will be out during the weekend, Elering spokesman Ain Koster told BNS on Tuesday.

As of 4:10 p.m. on Tuesday electricity was being imported to Estonia from Finland at 182 MW and exported from Estonia to Latvia at 301 MW.
