Since mid-April, people headed for the planes have to plan much more money for parking their cars at Tallinn Airport.

«In Parking Lot A (the big one in front of airport) 1st hour of parking used to cost €2, now €3. The second hour was four, now 5 euros. A day used to be €10, now it’s €15,» said the Tallinn Lennujaam press representative Lauri Linnamäe.  According to Mr Linnamäe, the airport hopes, by this, to direct clients going to multiple day trips to the long-term parking lot.

«Right now, Parking Lot A in front of the terminal, which is actually meant for short-term parking, is often clogged up. At the same time, we have enlarged the long-term parking lot and there is plenty of room there,» explained Mr Linnamäe.

According to new price list, leaving a car in the short-time A parking lot is €45 – in the long-term lot €28 would do. «By doing this, we hope that passengers will vacant the use of short-time parking lot for those who really need it for a short time only,» said he.

The new parking order is in force since April 15th, information is provided at the Tallinn Airport website.
