The producer price index of industrial output continued to increase in March

According to Statistics Estonia, in March 2013, the producer price index of industrial output changed by 0.8% compared to February and by 5.0% compared to March 2012.

In March, compared to the previous month, the producer price index was more than average influenced by the increase in prices in the electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply and in the manufacture of food products as well as by the decrease in prices in mining and in the manufacture of metal products.

Compared to March 2012, the producer price index was more than average influenced by the increase in prices in the manufacture of electricity and heat energy and in the manufacture of food products as well as by the decrease in prices in the manufacture of oil products and electronic equipment.

In March 2013, the export price index changed by 0.2% compared to February 2013 and by –0.6% compared to March 2012.

In March, compared to the previous month, the prices of electricity, peat products, wearing apparel and leather products increased more than average and the prices of oil products and textile products decreased more than average.

In March 2013, the import price index changed by 0.6% compared to February 2013 and by –1.0% compared to March 2012.

In March, compared to the previous month, the prices of electricity, agricultural products and beverages increased more than average and the prices of rubber, plastic and wood products decreased more than average.
