There has been an improvement in the Ukrainian investment climate in recent years, Estonian Prime Minister Andrus Ansip said at his meeting with Ukraine's Income and Tax Minister Alexander Klimenko in Kiev on Friday.

According to Ansip the rules for doing business in Ukraine have become clearer to Estonian entrepreneurs.

"My business delegation, for instance, includes representatives who are investing 100 million U.S. dollars in Ukraine. There are other representatives that have invested around 30 million dollars. As I said, it [the market] has become more predictable, and this has brought more willingness to invest in Ukraine. Predictability is the most important thing for businessmen, and a stable investment climate is also very important," the prime minister said.

Ansip is accompanied in Ukraine by the real estate businessman Hillar Teder, head of the industrial group BLRT Fjodor Berman, chairman of the supervisory board of the casino operator Olympic Entertainment Group Armin Karu and CEO of the oil shale processor Viru Keemia Grupp Priit Rohumaa.

To date 460 Estonian businesses have made investments in Ukraine.
