84 new HIV patients diagnosed in 3 mos

During the first three months of this year 84 people were diagnosed in Estonia as having contracted the HI virus causing AIDS.

The number of patients diagnosed as HIV positive in March was 29.

Forty-one of the patients found to have HIV in 2013 were diagnosed in Tallinn, 19 in East-Viru County, 19 in Narva, three in Tartu County, and one in West-Viru County and Parnu County each.

Four persons have developed AIDS this year. Two of the new AIDS patients live in Tallinn, one in East-Viru County and one in West-Viru County.

Altogether 8,461 people have been diagnosed with HIV in Estonia over the years, including 394 with AIDS.
