U.S. Ambassador to Estonia Jeffrey Levine and the entire U.S. Embassy team congratulate Estonia on Priiuse Põlistamise Päev, or the Perpetuation of Liberty Day.
March 27 marks the longest period of freedom that Estonia has enjoyed as a nation, surpassing the period under the first Estonian Republic.
“We celebrate this day with all Estonians,” said Ambassador Levine, “and congratulate them on all they have accomplished since re-independence and the bright future ahead.”
Perpetuation of Liberty Day marks the 7891st day of freedom since Estonia regained independence on August 20, 1991. This eclipses the previous longest period prior to June 17, 1940.
