Viking Lotto awards largest win in Estonian history

Yesterday, luck struck a local Viking Lotto player taking half the jackpot at €768,713.16, the other half going to Norway. The winning ticket was purchased in the Internet.

The win is largest yet in Estonia. The previous Viking Lotto biggie came a year ago with €733,813.52 – almost as much.

The last time, large money was won in Estonia month ago, to the day; a middle aged Harju County man hit €318,402.98 by a Bingo Loto ticket bought from Internet.

In 2012, Estonia Lottery (Eesti Loto) paid the state €7.74m gambling tax money, going into sports, culture, education, medicine and other areas. In wins, Estonia Lottery handed out €24.6m.
