The supervisory board of NASDAQ OMX Tallinn has appointed Rauno Klettenberg chief executive officer of the Tallinn stock exchange.

Klettenberg will take up the appointment on April 8. He will simultaneously chair the supervisory board of the Estonian Central Securities Depository owned by NASDAQ OMX Tallinn, the company said.

The pan-Baltic integrated trading platform established by now gives investors and companies seeking capital access to a broader array of opportunities than ever before, Klettenberg said. "The volume of deposits in Estonia has steadily increased in recent years but interest rates have remained low. I believe that expectation of higher yields, growing awareness in making investment decisions, and continued uniform market rules and a favorable investment environment in Estonia will bring new investors to the stock market."

Klettenberg joins NASDAQ OMX Tallinn from Svenska Handelsbanken where he served as the general manager of the Estonian branch for the last four and a half years.

Andrus Alber who headed the Tallinn stock exchange for six years decided not to run for a third term and vacated the post of CEO after the expiry of the second term in February.
