Already, Muscovites may show forth draft plans and building permits for Tallinn Park, to be created in Moscow. However, a «comrade» Moscow Park to adorn Tallinn is still only under discussions.

«The Moscow Park idea was sparked two years ago: in 2010, Tallinn hosted a delegation of Muscovites, our delegation was headed by Deniss Borodich. Then and there, the idea was born, as also recorded. No more attention was paid to it… until last December, that is, when the Muscovites came over to show us their Tallinn Park plans – having the location, drafts, building permits. And us still stuck at idea level,» explains deputy mayor Kalle Klandorf.

Member of the European Parliament Indrek Tarand, however, is upset at the comrade park initiative. «A striking bit of news, indeed. How, then, about Stalingrad Park, Sverdlov Park, Abakumov Park and Lenin Park?» asked Mr Tarand, sarcastically. «The Schnell Park (for some reason not named after its most excellent founder) and other existent parks might, good will provided, be made better yet for townsfolk, instead of organising these glorious Khrushchev-style campaigns. However, should somebody’s heart overflow towards Russia like that, I would that they considered the significance, for instance, of St Petersburg for us. But – Moscow?!» murmured Mr Tarand.
