Estonian Defense Forces Commander in Chief Riho Terras has been promoted to the rank of major general by the president.

President Toomas Hendrik Ilves signed a directive on Monday promoting over 100 Defense Forces and Defense League officers, reported Postimees.
The list was topped by Terras, who rose one rank from brigadier general, while Peeter Hoppe advanced to brigadier general. Martin Herem and Air Force commander Jaak Tarien became full colonels.
