Yesterday, the Estonian infantry company Estcoy-15 serving in Afghanistan, delivered its domain to Afghan security forces, leaving the patrol base Pimon.

From now on, the company will act as combat group manoeuvring unit out of the Camp Bastion military base, covering the entire Helmand Province, which means increase of area and greater variety of tasks.

«We’ll be, first and foremost, be active where it’s most critical, or else doing operations based on intelligence,» said commander of Estcoy-15, Maj. Tõnis Metjer. «Estcoy-15 is also in readiness to support various units of the brigade in larger operations requiring additional forces.»  Estcoy-15 entered into service in Afghanistan in November, 2012, up to yesterday based in Pimon. The company will serve in Camp Bastion until end of May.
