An operation is underway to extricate a cargo plane from soft ground at Tallinn Airport after one of the plane's wheels veered off the pavement during taxiing following a normal landing at noon on Friday, ERR News reported.

Air traffic has been partially halted until 14:35 because the plane, an Airbus 300 owned by ULS, is in the immediate vicinity of the runway.

Some smaller passenger airliners that do not need the whole stretch of the runway (such as those operated by AirBaltic and Flybe) have been cleared for takeoff.

Planes en route to Tallinn have been redirected to Helsinki and Riga.

According to initial information, the runway's friction coefficient is within standard limits and weather condition cannot be blamed for the incident.
